Multilayer con-extrusion
To improve vertical and horizontal strength and toughness properties,
the development has grown from conventional 3/5/7 layers, reached 13 layers even up to 55 layers.
Ultra-thin thickness
While the number of film layers increased, the film thickness is getting thinner from 20um to 12um,
or even 7um.
As the technology continuously develops and customers' requirements increase, the shortcomings of traditional PVC film production processes are shown up, i.e. calendaring process can only produce films with thickness over 50um while the blow molding process can only produce films below 100um. Besides, calendaring equipment causes more power consumption and corrosion issues, and blown films are not good enough in aspects of transparency and flatness.
